Hello I am a terribly newbie here. I am here to learn graphic LCD as part of my hobby. Recently I have bought the 128x64 LCD module and I have tried to use one today. I understood that a datasheet states that a typical 4.5 voltage should be applied to the LCD module. So I test it in order to see it works by applying ground and 4.5V to Vss and Vdd respecively. Unfortunately I could not see anything from the 128x64 LCD display. I use KS0108 driver. Have I missed out anything or need to add extra components in order to make it work? Can you please kindly advise me how to bring my 128x64 LCD module alive? Yin-Yang |

Here is a datasheet - http://www.hebeiltd.com.cn/lcm.datasheet/ATM12864D.pdf I don't fully understood with electronic stuff atm as I am quite new in electronic and microcontroller. Yin-Yang |

So far I have done: Vdd = 5V Vss = 0V Vee = ?? Vo = ?? (Should I connect to with a variable resistor 10k??) DB0-DB7 - connect to uC chip's port R/W - connect to uC chip's port D/I - connect to uC chip's port E - connect to uC chip's port CS1 and CS2 - connect to uC chip's port RES - connect to uC chip's port A - connect 8ohm resistor K - connect to ground I am still not sure about Vee and Vo. I have some problems reading the datasheet (something about chinese character). But... Vee must be the voltage needed for contrast, and must be variable between Vdd-19 and Vdd+0,3. I think you need some negative voltage supply. |

Your -VEE is the voltage needed to drive the LCD, and the VO is your contrast adjustment. According to your data sheet, you should have about -13.5vdc (specs say between -8 to -19) for your -VEE. You would connect your potentiometer for your contrast so that one pin goes to -VEE, center pin to VO, other pin to VDD. |

Hey, have you ever tried http://www.datasheetpro.com/index.php ? It is a free Datasheet search site for Electronic Components and Semiconductors, integrated circuits, diodes, triacs, and other semiconductors. Hope you will get what you want. Good luck! |

Hi I have been learning to use 128x64 LCD module with AT89C51 and I have been using FastLCD for converting bmp into a table of bytes. I have use the table in my codes and tried to compile it. I get the result - auto segment too large. How to put all bytes in my codes in order to display picture on my 128x64 LCD module. I don't understand it. What is the problem? |
