Here's just a few idea's for future plugin's.

If someone has one of those machines in "The Matrix" that can upload programming skills directly into my brain, I would have a go at these myself, but at the moment, programming seems a very daunting task. But thanks Henri for making everything easily available for other to do.

Idea's
Seti@home plugin

MSN Plugin (already asked for.. I know)

Text Reader plugin (can be used for a multitude of purposes, including reading log file for monitoring security or applications, to reading IRC logs. With a little string manipulation built in it would be a very powerful plugin)

POP3 Plugin (another already asked for)

Expand the SysInfo plugin

Performance Monitor plugin (could be another powerful plugin, specially if it's writen in a way that the plugin will allow any data request to be retrieved from the performance monitor.) Happy to discuss Idea's with someone who has programming skill on this plugin.

Anyway... They are just a few idea. I'll help out anyway I can if someone wants to take on any of these. :)

I am considering an MSN plugin but until the plugin system is re-worked. Lots of those are just not feasible yet. The plugins definately need to become more dynamic.

Anyone working on a plugin for XP Media Center? With the WMP plugin i get some funtionality.

I like LCDInfo, low resource utilization, easy to configure (also one of few which work with my Noritake CU20045SCPB-T23A vfd.)

What other functionality would you like within the WMP plug-in?

It's my understanding that XP Media Centre is basically just a nicer front end for WMP... However I haven't actually played with it, so I could be very very wrong. ;) (It's been known to happen you know.)

That is a loaded question Syridian. I have not actually seen the vfs progs made for mce in action.

For one, media player seems only to work for music played back. Other media played within mce which don't seem to utilize wmp are:

    1) any recorded video
    3) live tv
    4) radio (streaming and hardware ota (fm))
    5) dvd/cd
Also, nice features would be:

    - Volume indicator (which showed when volume is changed)
    - Channel for tv
    - tv program recording status
    -d vd/cd recording status
    - Name of current mce session ie. tv, dvd, music, pictures, radio
    - Number of tv programs recorded and number scheduled
    - Caller ID

I'm not sure but havent been able to find within LCDInfo, an option for Disk Space. Is there a system plug or other?

I haven't have a problem getting WMP displaying any type of file I am viewing, but it only displays the actual file names. Video or Audio... I haven't tested it on the live internet radio and other functions yet...

Anyway, I'm sure theres a programmer out there with enough skills and a desire to also see these functions working them self that would be willing to give this a go. :) Lets hope one turns up and sees that other people are interested. :)

Some things i thought of;
- RSS feed would be nice to have back
- an Outlook plugin for those having serious jobs
- a weather info plugin
- E-bay plugin, for obvious reasons

Hmmmm Ebay plugin.. Now thats an GREAT idea. :)

Yess, the RSS plugin would be good too, even to the point that the RSS plugin could be used to give you the Weather you wanted a seperate plugin for. :)

Possible if you're using a local RSS weather feed. However i have used LCDC's weather plugin that takes it's info from a site that has weather info from all over the world. It needed country/city codes, anyway weather sucks here 8 months a year

I musta been lucky when I was there then, beautiful sunny days. Just wished I had more time. ;) But thats unrelatedto LCD's, so off topic for this forum...

I guess it really depends on what you want in a weather plugin then. ;) The RSS feed I found was from one of those world wide ones also. But the feed was a little basic. And there's the fact that it's just a scrolling bit of text, and not seperated values that you can place in a neat LCD Screen. So... Yeah, I guess you are right, a weather plugin would be good. :)

Hmmm So.. to date.. the ToDo list contains:
Finish LCDinfo Manual
Learn C++ Programming
Knock out a Text Reader plug-in
Then a RSS reader plug-in
Then a Weather plug-in
Can't forget the E-bay plug-in
And then start looking at all of the other suggestions...

Hmmm might take a year or two to get through that todo list...
