hi bibibobobubu
the main advantage of the new lcdinfo is that you can write yourself the drv ^^ if you want

Everything's possible and this should be one of the easier things to do if the laptop is still in working condition.

First what would be needed is writing a program to the laptop that makes it act like some terminal and accepts data through serial/parallel port and displays it on the screen. Then the other part would be the LCDInfo driver that would send the data through serial/parallel port to the laptop.

Serial and parallel ports aren't that fast though and as the laptop has a bigger screen (at least 640x480 I believe ? ) they might be little slow for that. But it would work anyway.

But then the question is - who writes this stuff ? I could probably take care of the LCDInfo part but I can't promise to have time for the laptop program anytime soon.

like you just said, a terminal program could be used, like for the good old minitel (maybe you don't know, but bibibobobubu know this, he is french too)
You could in a first part send only characters

Yes, at first it might be possible to use some ready made terminal for text only. Ok I'm been lazy here, anyone know good terminal to use that would be suitable for this ?

i would be VERY happy if you, henry , would write the driver and the terminal....i need something like this for more than 3 month and i've already tryed to write such a program in VB..but i think i doesn`t have enough skill to do something like this and so i would be very happy about such a plugin for LCDinfo.....

PS: pleeaasse write it in 16bit because my 386 only supports DOS and win 3.1x...... :-P

greetz, max

I have planned to do this sometime but I don't know when.

There shouldn't be anything too difficult in making it, only some time needs to be spent.
