LP2950 can be substituted by LA5003 which is a 3V low drop regulator.

74LS245?

Hey, im new here. Just like to say ive seen some great stuff on this forum. Im from the uk and im having trouble sourcing the lp2950 and 74LS245. Im really interested in making one of these. Basically i was wondering if wnyone knew where i could get these parts from in the uk. Or if someone could find substitute parts on www.maplin.co.uk that would be great.

Thanks greatly

I'm having some problems with my 3310 display. If the screen is filled with a checkerboard pattern:

Code:
* * * * * * * * * * * *
 * * * * * * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * * * * * *
 * * * * * * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * * * * * *
 * * * * * * * * * * * *

the result looks like:

Code:
* * * * * * * * * * * *

* * * * * * * * * * * *

* * * * * * * * * * * *

every second line is almost empty but the pixels are barely visible.

If the screen is filled completely it's ok and displaying various images/text also work but doing a certain amount of rasterization like that results every second line fading out in that area.

The display is wired this way http://lcdhype.mod-extreme.info/lcdhypeforum/uploads/post-48-10948109970.gif

Oh, already forgot that.

It's just lots and lots of moving pixels...

And the problem was the cap. Replaced it and now I have a good view.

It should do as the 3410 (96x65) also contains the PCD8544 controller.

A guess on the 7110 controller could be SED1565. Sorry, I don't have more information on this.

I checked the datasheet for OM6208 and it includes I2C interface too so I don't think this is the correct controller.
But 6310 could use the same controller that is used in 3410. I don't know the controller for this either but I found one controller datasheet from Philips site that matched with what I know about the 3410 controller. Sorry, can't remember which controller it was but if you look into the datasheets and find the one for this size and with SPI interface only then you have it.

ould the 3410 controller be this one ??

http://www-us16.semiconductors.philips. ... 208_2.html

It can do both i2c & SPI

Well now i'm quite sure it is a Phillips PCF8814 controller that is in the 3410 , but i can't find the datasheet ....

Anyone has it ??

Has anyone tried benchmarking lpt throughput with one of these displays?, eg, maximum complete screen updates per second (fps).
I'm managing ~108fps (820 filled frames in 7.59s) with a 3310.

Last time I made some tests I could fill the screen at 75fps but that was some time ago and have since then rewritten all my code but not done any speed tests with it yet.

Cheers, I'll be interested in hearing from any later tests you may perform.
