Hi all,

Would it be possible for LCDInfo to use a HD44780-compatible display with an RS232 interface? The protocol is the same as the Wirz/Seetron "LCD Backpacks"; i.e. send 0xFF to enable command mode, and anything else is data, so it should be pretty simple to port over?

This is the one I'm using:

Also, I got hold of a SED1520-based 122x32 LCD with.... an RGB backlight!
I'll try to wire it up soon (I'm really busy with work now) and see how it looks! :)

Over here, a guy I know is building one of these serial backpacks. It currently supports 2 line lcds but 4 line is hopefully coming.
