Post subject:  KS0713 driver

Is it already there?
Is it compatible with the sed 153x series?
In this case it's an old dbox2 lcd which is (in the dbox2) driven by ks0713/sed 153x driver (under linux)
(reference: ht12538 lcd display)

Is this of any use to someone?

controller inside information (pinout etc)

+ a c code driver(character based)
http://nic.ath.cx/graphic-lcd/graphic-lcd.zip

or how 'bout grabbing the lcd code from the dbox2?
(easy to copy and fetch)

The instruction sets between the SED 1565 and the KS0713 are virtually identical, almost.

there is a difference in the Bias Set (0xA2/0xA3) command, where 0xA2 = 1/7, 0xA3 = 1/9 in the Samsung chip. In the Epson chip they are reversed. (If my source remembered correctly)

Also, for the Samsung, depending on the setting of ADC select and Common output mode, there can be a column address offset of 4; i.e. the leftmost column is address 4. I'm not sure if this is always true since I haven't tried using all mode combinations (yet)

His code offerings (posted on the crystafontz.com forum) works for both controllers, excepting for #defines for the differences mentioned above.
