I realize this thread is rather old and hasn't been updated in a long time, however there is a rather common LCD that as of yet seems unsupported by pretty much any PC-LCD control software. I have to admit, it's also a bit difficult to find much info on said LCD.

However, if you were interested in developing a driver, I would ship the LCD I have.

It's a 64x96 LCD with a T6A04A controller, found in the TI-82/83/84 graphical calculators.

I found this:
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/search.php?q=T6A04
First pdf is the required datasheet.
http://www.ptt.yu/korisnici/c/v/cveve/projects.html
Bottom project is using said controller with a link to source code.

While on topic; A 5.7" 320x240 colour TFT with a built-in controller. This is the first TFT I've come encountered with built-in controller+ram. Pitty the interface is a little too complex for small projects.
