Post subject:  From a NooB to programming....

From what I believe... it would be possible to write a plug-in in Visual Basic... But.. probably not as easy as with C++, as the Plug-in SDK is for C++.

The other route would be to create your screen in visual basic, output it to a bitmap file, which LCDinfo then uses as a background. However, I'm not 100% if this will work, and won't cause problems, as you might be writing to the file as LCDinfo is trying to read it....

Anyone have any thoughts on that? I'm not sure how file handling is handled when programming, does windows have a means of managing file access that will prevent this problem? Am I worrying over nothing?

I know the above solution isn't a pretty one, it's rough, and it takes a brute force approach. But it gets the job done, and you don't rely on waiting for a Visual Basic Plug-in SDK, which I'm guessing might never come. ;)

Post subject:  Another idea.

With lcd_ks0108_test.zip it is to start the program with Paramter possibly perhaps there there?
It doesn't need performance so much or one can perhaps extra write a version there since?
Closing like also the program so that one can always load a new picture via an order there.
Only an idea is if this goes also with the LCDInfo to describe also please.

Or perhaps only a text?
Only as an example:
LCD_ks0108.exe /This is a test
On the Display: This is a test
The programm close or wait for new inputs to the display

I hope this one write is it became to understand with a translation program made.

I must admit, I am having alot of difficulty understanding the translation. What language do you normal write in? Maybe we can find someone who could understand that better. :)

I suppose what you would want should work if there was another command line program that would for example take as a parameter a name of bitmap to write to the display or a text string. But I don't know where you could get this kind program.

I think MarkusM made some programs like this but they don't seem to available anymore: http://forum.lcdinfo.com/viewtopic.php?p=268#268
