are these still for sale? im thinking of buying one for a project im working on. this will be the single most expensive part so i want to clarify things before i buy.

i have a 4 wire resistive touch panel i want to hook up as well, probably over spi. you say USB13700 has spi, is this master or slave mode, or is it just gpio bit banged?

if it is master capable, does your software have any provisions such as a framework for accessing the spi? or even a touch panel?

how heavy is it on bandwidth, is there a constant stream to keep the display updated or does it only exchange data when it needs to? i need to run it from a usb1 hub with other peripherals and with a mips processor that isnt very powerful but, the data on the display will only have to be refreshed about once every second.

Yes, they are still available. The SPI master mode is implemented in hardware. Maximum SPI clock is 30 MHz in master mode.

The SPI is included in the ExPort... functions. In the description there you will also find more detailed specifications of the SPI operation. There is currently no special touch panel support provided.

It doesn't need constant data stream to update the display. Only when the image changes. Also it is possible to only send the areas that have changed and you don't need to refresh the full screen if you don't want to. As it's monochrome the data amount can remain quite small if you don't need to refresh very often.
