Dear Henri, ever thought about 2 grafix-pages to get 50%halftone-display? I know this from the old SED1335s where you blend 2 layers via some XOR to get 50%. Would be a cool thing. I already tried to handle something like this with gif-animations, but did not worked "cool". |

S1D13700 actually has better grayscale support than S1D13305. It supports both 4-bit (16 levels) and 2-bit (4 levels) grayscale modes. The limiting factor becomes from the amount of the framebuffer RAM which the S1D13700 has 32KB. I have been playing with 2-bit grayscale with a 320x240 display. This needs 19200 bytes of RAM. 4-bit grayscale with this resolution would need more than the available 32KB. 640x200 display at 2 bpp would need 32000 bytes so I guess it should fit. The controller's maximum resolution 640x240 can't be supported at 2 bpp with the available RAM though. So grayscale can be used but there isn't really support for taking advantage of this in current software. If you're making your own software then things are different of course and I can provide help for getting grayscale working with the USB13700. |

Dear Henri, maybe you got some developer-stuff for your controller to read through? Even im not actually able to code c#,it would be interesting. Cheers doc Btw. Your display is on its way. |
