There's something wrong with the part 1 of this topic and it doesn't show the 3rd page although there are more posts. You can still access them through the post IDs but that isn't very convinient. Link to the 3rd page.

So let's continue the discussion here and hope that it works this time.

How about Noritake 800A grapic display support? A lot of these babies are starting to circulate.

Currently I have drivers for T6963C, KS0108 and Noritake800 in the new version.

Hi!

I would like to see a decoding of "Umlaute" ("ä" = ae; "ö" = oe; etc.) for Winampsongnames or Computernames etc., because they can't be displayed by my LCD.

Thanks.

Wolfgang

I'll keep this in mind. Sounds like a good idea.

foobar2000 support!

This is the first time I've seen this program. So it is some kind media player. What kind support should LCDInfo have for it ? Like Winamp support ?

Is there something special in foobar2000 that separates it from the rest ?

Yeah, foobar2000 is a competitor of winamp :) It'd be great to support it somehow like winamp. You asked if there was something special in fb2k? The most biggest thing that comes in mind is its minimalistic basis. It is supposed to be minimal in all sort of ways, low cpu/mem usage etc. And I myself (and many other) think it really has beaten winamp even though it's just v0.56.

Oh by the way, I already have foobar2000 "supported" with a plugin that writes a .txt file and then lcdinfo reads the infos from there, but I'd like to see a "straight" support from lcdinfo.

See my lcd:

Nowadays it only shows the "length" as "position" and it's formatted like "position/length". I got this to work with a stupid hack-style thing, a plugin creates a invisible winamp-class -window (or something like that) and so i can use $winamptrackpos$ here :)

Have you done that plugin yourself ? If so then it should be rather easy to make a LCDInfo data plugin for foobar2000.

I can provide some sample plugin code if you are interested in making one (tested with C++Builder and Visual C++, also Delphi should work). I don't think it should be very difficult, just needs some studying how to access the needed information in foobar2000. I presume the info can be accessed somehow. ;)
I downloaded the SDK yesterday but haven't yet looked into it.

No, haven't made it myself, I've got no programming skills :( I don't mind if you can't (or bother to) make it, and I can live with using LCDinfo with foobar like this.

I don't think it should be very difficult to make the support. I'll put this on my list but of course the winamp plugins are also still on the list.

Post subject:  some ideas?

To be honest, I'm still waiting for my (KS0108) graphics display, so I have had no chance to test software yet at all...

Just posting some ideas that came to my mind:

- I'd really like to see a download reporting snapin (I guess like http://www.mp3car.com/usersites/alexguim/glcd.htm It does not seem to support graphic LCD displays, though, and would probably be nicer as a LCDInfo plugin. Excuse me for posting this as a new topic as well.)

- jaLCD appears to support a mod for software controlled backlights:
http://www.jalcdsforum.de/thread.php?threadid=365&boardid=17&styleid=4&page=1

I'm not an experienced programmer neither, just thought these might be nice ideas.
I hope to be able to test your app very soon!

I think this could be considered as a plugin. I checked and getright seems to have some log file that has information about current downloads. There might also be some other ways to get the info.

This could be a nice addition to future LCDInfo versions where I've planned some event/action support. Unfortunately I couldn't really find the relevant information at the jalcds board. (my non existent german skills :( )

Hi

Something I would like is to show game stats like how many kills for a player, number of players, currnet map etc. There is a program called qstat that gets the info from the games. http://www.qstat.org/

Next it would be nice to show the active window. Like when you play a game it will show QUAKE3 with its logo.

Another thing is animations. Maybe you can make it so that you can put your own gif file in the config and it displays that?

Thats it for now.

:)

-cs stats

-http support (http://www.skippari.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=292)

-flashfxp download/upload stats (eg 50% done, 5 mins remaining)

-I want the winamp title in the winamp screen to also update every second and CLEARS the display.... because my winamp screen stays for 20 secs .... and if change songs then all goed wright but the title overlap instead of replace each other ... so the first title doesn't gets deleted and the 2nd title comes over it .... NOT READABLE! (KS0108)

-MBprobe support (MBM sucks :P) (http://mbprobe.livewiredev.com/)

-Distributed.net Client support (eg. wich project (OGR etc), #.## Mnodes/s, rank)

-IRassistant (or other WinLIRC comp. IR program) (http://www.irassistant.com)

edit: more :)

- When pressing Control-X and it's at last screen it's shows nothing (blue screen KS0108) ... should restart screens ???
