I've looked for the optrex schematic on about 200 cd's but i didn't found it anymore.
BUT i've measured the display and found this way the connection you have to make.
pin 12 to 19 is self explainable.this is D0 to D7 where pin 12 is on the LPT port pin 2.than up till you got all the data lines .
now the more difficult pins:

LCD -> lpt
6-> 16
7->14
8->1
9->17

pin 10 has to go to +5volt through an 10k resistor(pullup )
pin 11 has also with an 10k resistor to 5 volt and a pushbutton to ground(reset active on ground)
pin5 is the -21volt from the schematic i gave.on this pin comes also a resistor and potmeter in serie.the variable connection from the potmeter goes to pin 4.
pin 3 on the LCD is the 5 volt power line.

I hope that you can understand this brief explanation else let me know it.

If anyone needs the DMF-5003NF-FW datasheet let me know, i have it. On the Optrex site there is the DMF-5003NB-FW-AQ variant, probably same pin layout.

yup..it's the same one.i've here 3 datasheets.
the best one you can use is the dm5003 full datasheet.
i will upload them on the page where the -21volt schematic is.(link above)
