Hello,
having a winstar wg240128b i'm wondering how to interface to the lpt in order to work with lcdinfo

any hints or urls?

Here a link to the datasheet for your LCD (you'll need it to identify the pins):

and here's a link to the wiring schematic that I used for my 240x128 LCD (can't remember where its originally from):

Your LCD has built in negative voltage, so as long as you substitute your LCD pin order for the one in the diagram, you shouldn't have any problems getting it to work.

I'm a bit dubious about the reset switch in the diagram. You could just wire 5v into the reset pin to or if you want a reset button, use a push-to-break switch instead of the components used in the diagram. (I say this because I found that if you are powering via, say, a computers PSU's 5v line, then it could cause the computer to reset rather nastily when you press the LCD reset button. Happened to me anyway, but I'm no electrical expert. I think if you want a reset button as in the diagram, then you need to provide the 5v from a source other than the one powering the LCD. Maybe... :D)
