well maybe I'm wrong with this but let me explain first ;)

I've inserted a switch in my LCD circuit so I can switch it off an on.
Now the problem is, when I run LCDInfo (and leave it running) and switch my LCD off and on, no info is displayed anymore. I guess that's because LCDinfo just initializes the display at startup?
When I close LCDInfo and start it again it works perfectly again.

Are there any negative sideeffects if you do this periodically? An option in the configuration would be great, maybe even to choose the interval? :)

I can do this. I've even been thinking about this for several months already. Just haven't had a good enough reason to implement it. Now that you asked for it - why not. ;)

Only side effect I can think of is the slight delay while doing the initialization and then drawing things again. But I'm not sure if you can even notice this.

Initialization could be done after completing each round of showing the screens or every 10 rounds or something like that. I can make a user adjustable interval for this.
