I know the 311 is very slow, even in liquid mp3.

I wonder if there is a way to overclock the on-board processor.

In theory it should be possible but it might cause some timing troubles. But if you want to test you could change the crystal.

There seems to be a 16MHz crystal next to the microcontroller. I'm not sure what is the fastest speed the H8/325 microcontroller will work at but there should be at least few MHz reserve.
