ive just spent a little while soldering up the lcd from an old 5110, when i remembered why i was allowed to pull it apart: the phone had been dropped in the pool. there is a single black line across the top of the lcd, is it likely that it still goes?

In my experience... Try it... Most components are pretty much water proof. You parrallel port will survive almost anything you do to it with 5 volts, it's fairly robust... Just don't be surprized if it doesn't work.
