Ive read a bunch of diffrent posts and pages about these type of displays and how to interface them with a PC using the LPT port. I tried wiring one up a couple of diffrent ways with no success at all. Then I came accross this post...

http://forum.lcdinfo.com/viewtopic.php? ... ight=nokia

Shuichinz has used an alternate pin location to wire up the LCD, this is the route I would like to take. Based on the pinout information here (third one down the page)...

http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_ ... _5110_6110

I tried to wire up my LCD this way too, but still no luck. Im sure it has somthing todo with the power source to the LCD. Ive tried pulling the power from the LPT port and using an external variable power supply... no luck either way.

Perhaps sombody could fill in the blanks for me...

17 - LCDCDX - LPT ?
18 - SCLK - LPT ?
19 - SDA - LPT ?
20 - LCDCSX - LPT ?
21 - LCDRSTX - LPT ?
22 - UDGND - LPT ?
24 - VL - LPT ?

Any help or insight would be appreciated, thanks.

Well...

I actually got this LCD to work the way it should. I used the wiring information from the LCDInfo configuration screen.

Now im going to see if I can get the Winamp function working.

Thanks.

Ok, well ive gotten the Winamp portion of this project working.

Now I just need to figure out how to get my backlight working, I ended up cooking the LED's on another Nokia PCB last night. I had somthing like 4v running to them, they lit up a nice red color (I guess thats bad, seeing as they are green) and started to smoke!

Atleast now I have somthing todo with my box full of cellphones.

Thanks.
