Hi,

I've got a http://www.citizen-lcd.com/usc220.pdf screen and I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. It does look like it can take analog RGB, does this mean I can connect it to my PC using an old monitor cable?

It's not quite that straightforward, as you would still need to apply power (5VDC according to the datasheet) If you knew the signals that came out of your video card, you would have to make sure that they were wired to the right signals on your display as well. You could also try wiring it to a video card that has the vesa feature connector. But, it also says it will take a composite video connection, which could be off your video card if it supports it (like TV out, usually a yellow connector) or VCR, DVD, etc.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I hooked it up to my GameCube to see if it works and it did! So the Composite connection works but I haven't been able to trace any RGB pins and I'm guessing that there are two versions of the screen. It's also hinted on the first page of the specs.

The screen isn't very bright but maybe that's because the backlights are old... I'm thinking I could build a DIY projector but I'm not sure the screen is big enough. Maybe I'll try putting a couple of bright white LED's behind it and a lens in front and see what happens.

Well, the good thing is now you at least know it works
I've never tried to make a DIY projector, but I know that people do it quite a bit. You could try and see if the CCFL's are replaceable and maybe fix it that way. Good luck with your project!!
