@Henri: Thanks for your help and for LCDInfo!

Glad to see your lcd working. But I think there were still some things I promised to look into but haven't got to do that yet...

You can do a RGB fade. You can control every colour over a poti and regulate every brightness from 0% to 100%.
I'll upload the schematic and pics in the LCDHype-forum in the evening.

Myscha,

If you do post schematic and pics, could you post here as well. I can't read German, so it would be great if you could list it in LCDinfo too. Thanks.

I made a pdf from my schematic today, but forgot to post it and left it at work. I'll do that tomorrow.

I'll post the pics there and try to describe it here in english. If there is anything you don't understand tell me!

I'll post the pic of my light bar the next few minutes in the Hype forum.

It's only a piece of pcb with pads on both sides which are connected through and with a distance of 1.27mm. I soldered 4 times a red, a green and a blue PLCC2 led on it and connected them on the backside. The red ones all in serial, the blue and green ones two in serial, two times parallel. I make my voltage through a 8V voltage regulator with a 1N4148 in the GND lane, so i get 8,7V out of it. 8V would not be enough because the red leds have 2,1V each. 4 wires are going to the bar: one for my supply voltage (8,7V) and a "GND" for each colour.

@Henri

You don't have to hurry - my lcd is working and for now i'm glad about that... ;) The only problem is that i can't make for example a clock over the whole screen, but the rest does work fine. I must "re-think" when i'm working at the screen, but that is ok...

Now i have uploaded the schematic on the Hype forum. I'll draw it with a cad-programm soon, but for now it should be ok...

Where did you get the PLCC2 leds?
Also, and don't take this the wrong way, the schematic you posted in LCDHype is really hard to read.

I'm working in an electronic assembling factory, so i got them from there. But here in germany you can also buy in an online shop, for example:
http://www.reichelt.de/inhalt.html?SID= ... =0;TITEL=0

Do you mean hard to read because of the bad quality or because it is complicated?

Hard to read because of quality. From the looks of it, the circuit looks pretty straight forward, but hard to see a lot of the component values/connections. I know you had said you were working on a CAD draw-up, so I will wait for that. Thanks.

Tried the link, but unfortunately, I can't read German
How much were they?

I'll post the drawing when i finished it.

The red, green and yellow leds cost 0.17 Euro a piece and the blue are 1.28 Euro.

Where are you from? I think there should be also a shop in your country where you can buy leds. I can't imagine that there is none...

I'm in the USA. I wasn't sure if the PLCC2 were a special surface mount package or not. I'll have a look around. Thanks.

PLCC2 is looking like the one here:
http://www.reichelt.de/inhalt.html?SID= ... =0;TITEL=0

You can also take any other size of led if you have place enough in your display. I took that ones because they are very bright and small sized...

Thanks Myscha. Where did you place your LED's? On the sides, middle...? This is a great mod, and hope to use it in a number of things, other than LCD's.

You can place the leds whereever you want. I placed them like that:
---RGB----------RGB----------RGB----------RGB---

I'll try to make better pics next week with the cam at work.
