I was thinking of purchasing one of these color displays (SONY ACX705AKM). They are selling cheap and are color. Tho I know LCDInfo has no driver for this gLCD, I do know some of you out there are experimenters and might be able to give me some guidance/advice...or even if it is worth the hassle. Here is a link to the spec sheet. Regards, Iridium |

Well what do you want to use it for? It'll need a new kind of controller and also software needs to be written for it. A higher SED or FPGA should be able to drive it. |

Yes, what would you like to do with the display is important question here. Are we talking about connecting it to PC or some other device ? Do you have some programming experience and willing to write your own software here. I'm sure it can be used but if this display is good choice for your needs I don't know. Like coorz said it will need some additional hardware to drive it in most cases. |

I'd just be hooking it up to the PC. My only programming skills are in VB and that is very limited. It looks as tho I should keep my $20 in my pocket and pass on the LCD. I do make my own printed circuit boards for various projects (mostly LCD interface and support circuitry). But programming a driver would probably be a bit rough for me. ![]() Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate it! ![]() Regards, Iridium |
