I plan to use a T6963-based LCD (via PC parallel port) on a project with the view to making more units that will also be compatible with LCDInfo. Through your forum, I found this diagram at
http://chrix.woaf.net/hitachi/ Would it be fair to say that this is the most accepted interface between LCD module and parallel port?
Here's more boring stuff in case you care, or just skip it
I've been running my home built car media player using 40 x 4 alphanumeric HD 47780 and a Visual Basic app on Win 95 (yes, on purpose) but it's time to move up to a 240 x 64 or 240 x 128 graphical. The mistake(?) I made with the 40 x 4 is I wired it my own way (which worked fine with my app) but it didn't match any accepted standard (ie didn't work with LCDSmartie, etc). I rewired and reporgrammed so now I can use any of my alphanumerics on any of four PCs with a number of apps. I don't want to make the same mistake again. Fortunately I stumbled on this site before I started.
Cheers!
