Ok i deal mostly in phasechange cooling for high end Computer's..well 1 of the unit's im moding has a "1602H REV .1 lcd on it,9it only display's number's and text..id like to put a true lcd on it and write some software to make use of this new found idea..im a coder so software isent a problem..but i need to know what LCD will be the best drop in replacement for the unit, it has 16 pin's all in 1 line and has a built in controller..what are my option's here? Thank's BB |

1602 sounds likea HD44780 character LCD. I don't think you can drop in replace it with a true graphical one. Why not get a graphical one and use lcdinfo or lcdstudio to show system info? Also possible are certain character VFD drop-in replacements from Futaba or Noritake. |

Because these phasechange cooler's are running between -35 and -60*c and they need there special controller's that are built to monitor these temp's...are there no HD44780 graphical lcd's witht he same controller/interface? i can change the connector for the unit that's not a problem. |
