A couple people have inquired about HD61830/LC7981 controllers for their LCD's. I started a prototype board and currently have one running an Optrex 480x64 display. The board consists of the LC7981 (compatible with the HD61830 controller), onboard variable negative voltage generator and contrast control. I want to find out how many other people may be interested in these controllers so I can get an approximate cost for purchasing parts and getting the boards made. The cost will be about $55 US each.
Features:The LC7981 controller has a maximum resolution of 640x256. It takes an 8-bit data interface and converts it into a upper and lower (D1 and D2) serial data stream for your LCD.
8-bit MPU interface
Graphic mode: 512k dots (2^16 bytes)
Character mode: 4096 characters (2^12 characters)
Internal character generator ROM: 7360 bits
160 types of 5x7 dot characters
32 types of 5x11 dot characters
Total 192 characters
The LC7981's are more so for some older type displays that require the 2-bit interface. If any of your spec sheets for your displays show the D1 and/or D2,FLM, M(A/B), CL1, CL2 (CP/LP) then the LC7981 board will more than likely support those displays.
