ok so i got me lcd today and i wire it i fire lcd smartie up and nothing happend but then i try lcd center and its kinda ok exept its very currupt ? btw does lcdinfo support hd74480? (or whatever number it is :S) |

ok i know whats happening but how to fix it??? if i make it say "test" in lcdcenter it shows on screen as "4%34" wtf is going on???????? my paralell port is ecp is that a problem?? |

Yes LCDinfo supports HD44780. You could try other LPT settings in the BIOS. Also i'd triple check the wiring and check for proper grounding. Which wiring scheme have you used? |

ok the wiring scheme i used is from www.electronics-lab.com http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects ... ndex2.html but i grounded pins 8-15 (i think thats what i did ), and even before i grounded them i got the same problem... my display is a wintek(?) wm-c1604m says HD44780 compatible compatible, my wiring is ok i checked like 4 times {edit} my bios doesnt have an option for epp ONLY maybe a windows setting? |

Use this one: http://lcdsmartie.sourceforge.net/circuits.htm whaddya mean 'i think i grounded 8-15' pin 18~25 on the LPT connector should be grounded, also make sure you have the portdriver installed, see that Smartie site. |
