OK, so they don't have a driver chip but still $15 Australian dollars: http://www.oatleyelectronics.com/displays.html Quote: (NEW) HITACHI 9.4" COLOUR LCD SCREEN: Hitachi brand, Part # LMG9200XUCC. These high resolution colour LCDs are brand new laptop displays. Resolution: 640x480 VGA, Brightness: 70, Screen size: 9.4", Panel type: STN, Dimension: 154mm x 205mm. There are not easy to connect or drive to
WTF? Can anyone find a datasheet for this display? I've tried Googling but haven't been able to find anything |

Oh it's true alright. The problem is that no one can find any damn info on it including basic things like pin outs. Plus, it no doubt has no controller of any sort so the whole thing looks like it might have to be put in the too hard basket. Or rather, too hard for ME |

What were you exactly planning to do with that VGA panel? |

Nothing really, just an interesting challenge. I like writing graphics drivers and stuff like that. There must be something wrong with me I am actually playing around with AVR's at the moment and I've got a Zilog Z80 & Z80180 on order so I plan to build a computer at some stage. A display like that would be nice but it would probably be easier to just interface to a VGA monitor |

Google LVDS. I saw another person trying to do what you want and others were saying that it used a "LVDS interface". |

hey guys... I just came across these 2 lcd panels... same size, same res... looking like this panel... the pin-outs are very similar, except the ccfl power polarity is reversed... here are the links http://www.hitachi-displays-eu.com/doc/lmg7550xufc.pdf http://www.hitachi-displays-eu.com/doc/sp24v001.pdf I know they're not the same panel, but if these 2 panels here are nearly identical, maybe Hitachi used a similar pinout on all their boards? Anywho... by the look of the photo that you've sent, these here look like the closest matches... I have also seen model LMG9200XUCC on this-> http://www.lcdrepair.net/lcdcross.htm site, and have e-mailed them to see if they have a datasheet (crosses fingers) Well, hope this helps. -tubes41 |
