hey all LCD Graphic display - 640 x 240 blue supertwist (passive/Mono) electro-luminance back light. Display uses a 10 pin card edge connector with .100" spacing - Size: 9-1/2"L x 2-3/4"H - Drivers: (6) LC7941, (2)LC7942 * No documentation with this item it comes with no documentation..... are these common screens, and im hoping that it can be hooked up to my pc? if so, how? would it be really difficult, or just a few wires here, a few there and wham-bam-thank you ma'am?!lol. its just i can get this quite cheap, and was just wondering if it would be a good buy?! how difficult would it be to interface with my computer, and would i be able to use 'standard'(<read: lcdsmartie etc (common lcd software) to drive it? thank you all! |

LCDsmartie, no. This would be a graphical display, so you would need LCDinfo or something of the like. If you could post pictures, it would be a real help as well since you don't have any data sheets to go off of. With only 10 pins, it will most likely be controllerless, meaning you will need an additional controller board to drive it too. 640x240 can be driven with a SED133x board providing that your display takes 4-bit data.....again, a data sheet would be nice, but it doesn't make it impossible to figure out either. Just out of curiosity....how much are they? |

Uhm haven't you noticed all the LCD's descriptions are the same Their DMF50140NF-SEW should be easy to hook up. |

Not to mention the pictures are all the same too Like Coorz said, the DMF50140NF would be easier (a little anyway) since it already has the controller built in (T6963) and comes with a data sheet. It would be cheaper as well, since you can't even find a good SED controller board, by itself, for under $40 USD. Look around Ebay too, you may find something else you like. There are many guides on hooking these up in these forums as well. |

from www.brigarelectronics.com (would you be willing to kinda get the bits for me incl the sed controller, and i could pay, and perhaps you could send it over to the uk?!) I live near Brigar Electronics and plan to go there tomorrow. I will ask about the displays, however I am sure they do not have any information or else they would have posted something. I believe the reason the pictures and descriptions are the same is that they are essentially all the same just with different manufacturer numbers on them. Again, I will ask. I have found on another post that these were used in some Word Processors. With that said, I must agree with One~Zero about the DMF50140NF-SEW being easy to hook up. I plan on getting one of those myself. It would be nice to find some info on the other displays. $12.95 is a nice price. |

I finally went to Brigar Electronics. They do not have any more information about these displays, but I picked one up to see if I could figure it out. I have spent some time attempting to trace the connections. I have zipped the datasheets for the ICs as well as the spreadsheet I created and placed it at http://www.teelsys.com/richard/lcd/LMG6720UHSR/LMG6720UHSR.zip. If I get any further along, I will update the file. |

heya was just wondering if you could post a pic of the back of the display, may help someone identify it. i've actually managed to get hold of a powertip 240x128 display, and thats got a load of lc7941/2 IC's on it, coupled with the Toshiba T6963C controller. is it possible it has the toshiba or an equivalent on board? would you be willing to purchase one of these and perhaps post it over?! if i payed all shipping fees and stuff of course! thanx |

thanx I would rather not get involved with obtaining these and shipping them. I would suggest emailing Brigar Electronics and see if they will ship it to you. If they will not, then I may consider doing this, but only as a last resort. I have added a page to my web site for this display where I plan to add more information as it becomes available (http://www.teelsys.com/richard/lcd/LMG6720UHSR/). Most likely I will not be doing much more any time soon as I have a few other displays that I am working with as well as attempting to learn about PICMICRO devices and USB interfacing. |
