I find this datasheet.
I wiring the vfd with this schematic from VFDWorld
Image

I run LCDInfo (0.6 build17), configure to HD44780 4x20 and only in 8 bit mode I see a strange characters (only characters are alternated by two space) and when I close LCDInfo I see in the end of vfd 'Goodbye Bye!' :(

The vfd are wiring correctly?
Is it compatoble with HD44780?
What I do for work correctly the vfd? :?:

Truzzone :?

Sounds that either the VFD isn't HD44780 compatible or then the timings of the LCDInfo HD44780 driver don't work with it. There was also some other reports of another VFD that was supposed to be HD44780 compatible not working correctly with the driver.

I try with other program for lcds: lcdsmartie and with jalcds I see a charapters similar to the word I digit in the software, for example 'hello hello' in the display I see 'hègo ùelòo' , LCDInfo is the only I see a correct word 'Good Bye' for this I think that the vfd is a HD44780 compatible :?

Have you done any programming ? It might help changing the timings in the driver.
Maybe I could also try doing this but experimenting would be easier for you as you have the real hardware to test.

You can find the latest LCDInfo HD44780 driver sources here: http://www.cme.co.za/rudi/downloads/hd44780_driver.zip

It is mostly the WriteData() and WriteCtrl() functions that could be experimented with to try if different timing could help. Some delays could be added etc...

I have the same VFD and it works with another little program:

http://vfdworld.com/index.php?page=download

Not sure if it will work with LCDinfo but it defenitely works with this application.
