Hello, I'm trying to connect a winstar WG12864B (KS0108) to my PC. I followed the picture on the KS0108 page of this site to connect the display but it doesn't work. I only have tha backlight but nothing else when i try to display something with lcdinfo... I think there may be an error in the connections... Could somebody help me?? (a schematic of which pin to connect with the parallel port would be great For informations hera are some references : the datasheet : http://www.winstar.com.tw/detail_view.php?pd_num=WG&pd_nu2=12864B the picture I used to connect the display (the pin are not in the same order but I tried to connect the relevant one regarding to the datasheet) : http://www.skippari.net/lcd/ks0108.html Just another thing I only connected pin 18 of the parallel port to the ground (not 18 to 25), could this be a problem??? Many thanks in advance for your help!! (Sorry for my poor english) |

Always triple cjeck your wiring, with multimeter preferably. Did you also hook up the pot? If you adjust that does the contrast change? |

I'd suggest rewiring it, contrast should work. It could even be your display is working but you can't see it because you can't set the contrast correctly. |

LCDinfo does not require driverlinx. So the display appears to be ok, then the question is did you setup LCDinfo correctly for your display; - select your appropiate driver and configure it's wiring, - create a correct screens.xml file with correct designs remember nothing happens when you fire up LCDinfo until you configure the driver and have some screens made. |
