Post subject:  Help connecting Dalian EDM240128-17 LCD display to computer

I have a LCD display 240x128 from Dalian which I try to connect to a computer through the paralell port. The display uses the 6963c controller.

I'm halfway there but just got garbage when I try the "LCD Test" button in PowerLCD 1.1. Can't seem to figure out what's wrong.
I've used this wiring: http://www.sportsbil.net/lcd/DV_t6963c.gif

You can also see some pictures of what I get here (datasheet is there too): http://www.sportsbil.net/lcd/. Different garbage every time I push the "LCD Test" button.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

First make sure your wiring is ok, by rechecking with a multimeter.
The check whether your wiring scheme is supported by PowerLCD or try LCDinfo / LCDstudio / LiQuidMP3 in which you can set custom pin layouts.

edit: looks like wrong wiring too me

My problem is that I don't know if the wiring is OK - or if the one I've used can work. So I don't have the knowledge to actually do the checking.
I will try LCDinfo though, thanks for that.

If you can say anything of what you think is wrong with the wiring, that would be great.

Well judging by that picture of your LCD it just looks wrong!
The wiring scheme you used is a good one, however i have no idea how PowerLCD works and if it requires a special wiring scheme, hence i said try other LCD apps which have an option to configure the wiring.

Can you adjust the contrast?
