Alright, I have just purchased 4 Shelly LCD 240 x 64 LCD with EL B/Ling. The seller is going to send me a wiring schematic via email on the item and thus I will be able to hook up the device. I was wanting to inquire on whether or not the software you ihave developed will work for this particular model of LCD one of them I believe is using a Toshiba T6963C Controller which I see is supported by your program. But the other 3 have different controllers. A Toshiba T6A39, A Toshiba T6A40, and a HY 6264A. These I didn't know whether or not were supported. I should be recieving the LCD screens in the mail some time next week. At which time I can give you all more information on the equipment I recieved. |

The T6963C is indeed supported, the other ones not. I believe those are controllerless. |

The T6A39 and T6A40 are row and column drivers, not the actual controller itself. The HY6264A is the SRAM for the display. More than likely, all 4 of your displays are T6963C controlled, and the other IC's are the supporting hardware that also lies on the display. You wouldn't have SRAM on a display without some type of controller....wouldn't make sense for it to be there ![]() |

Alright, great so when I get all these in and wired up I should have too many issues unless I absolutely just wired up everything wrong or the LCD is bad, which accoring the ebay it shouldnt be. Had to pay that extra 2.00 for that insurance, heh! |

the maxim IC I am looking at is the one on the schematics page under the t6963c circuit diagrams. I would link it right here and give the part number but unfortunately Im on a business network which prohibits me from going to that particular area on this site. Damn business firewalls! |

Maxim makes some nice and simple negative voltage supplies. I believe the MAX637 for -15v, or the MAX636 for -12 MAX635-637, would work well for you and are extremely easy to build with minimum external parts. Plus they give you a working example right in the data sheet....can't go wrong ![]() You should be able to order samples or buy them pretty cheap. It all depends on the requirements of your display, so check the datasheet to see what the -VEE requirements are. |

Alright well I looked those over up here. As soon as I get home Ill pull up those data sheets and everything and look over what I got and get them posted here so we can look over it together. I will be getting off about 6:30pm cst so I should have it posted by 7:30pm cst latest. This way I know exactly what I need to get here. Like I said first post. Im a newb to this stuff and trying to get use to circuitry diagrams. But I know electrical systems! yay! Almost the same I recon. |

Now you had recommended http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/en/ds/MAX635-MAX637.pdf these to use but at that point you didnt have access to the manual. If you could look over it could we make sure this is what I will need. Thx! |

Looking at your datasheet, the MAX636 should do you fine, but if want to use it for other displays later in the future, you could use the MAX637 with an adjustable output resistor so you can have more of an adjustment range for larger displays later. You would want an adjustable resistor with the MAX636 as well so you can "fine tune" for best visibility as there is no contrast adjustment for your display. |

thx for looking that over i will look into getting those parts in the next few days and getting it setup Ill probably go for the max637, because I do plan to move on in the future but might do the max636 just in case I want to keep all of my lcds assembled. Which most likely I will want to. Wierd like that I guess. |
