Post subject: | Where does the ground go ? |
Hi all, I'm going to wire a lcd with a KS0108 controller using the diagram from this site. Here it is: ![]() But I have questions about the power supply. 1) Why dont we use the power from the parallel port ? 2) Why are pin 18 to 25 from the parallel port connected to the ground ? 3) Are pin 18 to 25 connected to the ground of the parallel port or to the ground of the power supply ? Or does it not mather ? Thanks for answering my questions. |

1) LPT probably doesn't supply enough power (current) to drive an LCD 2) Uhm because they are GROUND pins ![]() 3) connect them to the same GROUND of the powersupply that powers your LCD. Please make sure of wiring the GROUNDS properly, KS0108 is very picky... |
