Hi all, I'm going to wire a lcd with a KS0108 controller using the diagram from this site. Here it is:
But I have questions about the power supply. 1) Why dont we use the power from the parallel port ? 2) Why are pin 18 to 25 from the parallel port connected to the ground ? 3) Are pin 18 to 25 connected to the ground of the parallel port or to the ground of the power supply ? Or does it not mather ? Thanks for answering my questions. |

1) LPT probably doesn't supply enough power (current) to drive an LCD 2) Uhm because they are GROUND pins 3) connect them to the same GROUND of the powersupply that powers your LCD. Please make sure of wiring the GROUNDS properly, KS0108 is very picky... |
