I used the search and couldn't find any topic about this problem, so i'll post it here.

I wired my LCD (CFAG12864B-TMI-V) up and connected it, but all it showed was this:

So i resoldered it completely, and got the same problem.
It also shows that screen when i only plug the power in. Now i'm sitting here with an LCD with only the +5, GND, Vcontrast & Vee connected, and it still gives the same screen.
Is it normal for an LCD to give this screen when it isn't connected or is my LCD broken? I certainly don't hope so

Usually results like this are seen when there is some problem with the wiring and timing. But as your display isn't even connected this shouldn't be the problem.

When I switch my display on it just stays blank and only shows things when driven by some program so I don't think what you see is normal. I've had pictures that resemble your's when I've written data with wrong timing.

If no other problem can be spotted I think your display might be defective.
