Post subject: | PLEASE HELP ME!!! SII G321EV5R and Sanyo LC7981 |
Hi guys, i'm a lcd newbie. I' bought two LCD's but i don't know what models they are and so i don't know how to use them The first is a monoromatic display whitout any controller, on the back there's the model number SII G321EV5R, how could i connect to a parallel port or other? The second without model number, has a Sanyo LC7981 (5E2) controller onboard, the viewing area is (114x64)mm and it has 20 pins to connect it, i think. It was attached on a pcb labeled Australian Biomedical Corp. How could i use it? Connecting to parallel port? PLEASE HELP ME it's about ONE MONTH I SEARCH FOR DOCUMENTS MATERIALS AND SOMEONE WHO COULD HELP. gREETS SILVER |

Silver wrote: SII G321EV5R To connect this to parallel port you need to find a controller for it. Here has been some discussion about external controllers: http://forum.schijf.org Quote: Sanyo LC7981 You should be able to connect this to parallel port. There isn't much software for this but if I remember correctly LC7981 is like HD61830. But you would need the pinout to know how it has
to be connected. You can probably do this with the LC7981 datasheet and tracing the pins from the chip to the connector. |

http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/24 ... LC7981.pdf http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/24 ... 40128DFMIT I've no experience in connecting HD44780 displays but connecting graphical display should be similar. Depending of the display it may need external negative voltage source. |

What software are you trying to use to drive the display ? If I remember correctly my LC7981 display also flickers before it is correctly initialized. You could also be much more specific about how you have connected the display and all other information that might be useful here. |
