Post subject:  BA63 under DOS

I'm trying to get a Wincor Nixdorf Display (BA63) running under DOS.
Windows, I've no problem with Hyper Terminal.

Dos - a different story. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've attached 12v to pin nr. 1 on the 9 pin plug with the earth on pin nr. 5.
Pins 7 & 8 are bridged. This only leaves (I think) two more pins, pin 2 and pin 3. RTS & DTS (again, not sure).

Would appreciate any help on this.

Silly me. Of course the pins 2 & 3 should be RXD and TXD

Have been fighting with this now for more than a week.

What version of windows are you using?
Reason I ask is because newer versions don't natively support DOS, so you may need to enable your com port inside the dos window. Not sure what communications settings you are using, but you would set it like this:

For example, to set Com Port 1 to 9600 baud, Even parity, 7 bits, stop bits 1, at the command prompt, type:
Code:
com1:9600,E,7,1

To see a list of the modes for the serial port, just type:
Code:
mode/?

Thanks for the reply, however, I don't want to use windows.
I want to keep this strictly as a dos machine.

I already tried the mode command in dos, with no luck.
