Anyone ever use the LCD out of a Sharp Zaurus ZR-5xxxx? I have a ZR-5000. I opened the unit to see what I could see. The connector for the LCD has 40 pins. I wanted to see what people here have to say before attempting to open the top of the unit to get at the actual LCD.

I have contacted Sharp in the past and they are less than helpful for this sort of thing.

Without a data sheet, it would be pretty much impossible to figure this one out. Namely because it's probably a COG (chip on glass) type of display, where everything is integrated into one unit. I'm not familiar with that exact display, but given the fact that it has 40 pins, it won't be an easy task to figure out. Depending on the age of the technology, Sharp has been pretty helpful at giving datasheets. But, if it's something that's custom made or fairly new, I doubt you'll be able to find much info on it.
