Hey guys,

Just registered in the forum, and let me tell you in advance: I'm a newbie at LCDs.

I recently got myself an old Nokia phone and plugged the LCD into the paralell port. Worked OK.


Now I found this Sharp HC-4600 (palmtop, VERY OLD, looks more like a tiny and 'dumb' laptop) lying around in my old stuff, and decided to open it up.

The LCD (an LM7M631, or at least what was printed on the back of it) has a small PCB on it (printed on the board, there is "BN1130YCA6", and beneath it, "CMK-G2X"), with some SMD resistors and diodes, and a small 5-terminal connector. It appears to have 42 connectors on the PCB, with a 'cable' going out (multi-conductor cable).

The last pin doesn't seem to be connected to the 'cable', and there are 7 pins shortenned in between on the cable (one conductor for the 7 pins), then 8 pins shortenned (on the cable too), I guess.




Looked up everything I could in Google, but found nothing.
Just found it's a 7" 640×240, with 256 colors.


Anyone has any clue?

Just for the record, I got a digital camera recently, and though nobody answered (and I found out Sharp doesn't distribuite datasheets 'freely'), I though it might be useful if I posed some photos of it here...

Without datasheets very difficult to say how it works and what all the signals are unless you want to tap into a live system with a logic analyzer to check what the signals are.

Sorry Henri, I couldn't find it's datasheet... :-\

Yep there are so many different displays out there that especially for older hardware it can be difficult to get documentation or even find someone else who would have used that same thing.
