Post subject: | Help Identifying an LCD from a Canon PowerShot Series Camera |
Since my friends know I'm a geek, they sometimes send extra parts my way. One of my friends had a Canon PowerShot (A400, I think) die on him and so he decided to tear it down for parts. When he removed the LCD, he gave it to me. I know absolutely nothing about this LCD. The LCD is 1.5" horizontal (2.0" diag). This LCD has no controller on it, but it has two flat ribbon cables. One I have determined is for the backlight, but don't know the pinout (4-wire). The other appears to be 19-wire (I've counted multiple times, but with the fine pitch, I might be making a mistake). The only three identifying numbers are as follows: 9637A51H (appears on a sticker on the data ribbon cable) 2CF2A0177 (appears etched into the metal frame of the LCD) CED0455908318MI (appears in a large sticker on the rear of the LCD) I've done a fair amount of googling on this topic already and that info seems to lead me that it's a Sony since a lot of articles discuss Canon using Sony LCDs in this series of camera. However, I do not have this confirmed. I've found a couple of similar dead PowerShot cameras on eBay that I might buy so that I can tear them down myself and follow the pinout. I've got a project in mind for this LCD, so I'd really like to be able to use it. Any information on this LCD would be fabulous. |

Hi, do you still have this LCD available? If yes please let me know via info (at) ulyz (dot) com - I would be happy to buy it from you as I broke the same LCD on my camera. Thanks & regards, Alex |
