Post subject: | Unknown HD61830 display |
Hi i have a display with an HD61830A controller, but it has no manufacture label on it. Perhaps somebody can help me with it. It has 128x64 dots and on its back it has the HD61830A controller, a OKI M5260 and a Philips PC74HC245T [Philips homepage: 5V Transceiver with Direction Pin; Non-Inverting (3-State)]. There is also a small type print on the board: HY-301 Under the display (between the board and the diplay a some chips, too. The connector of the board has 17 pins and the ports DB0-DB7 of the HD61830 are connected to the Philips chip (not directly to the connector pins of the display board). If have search with Google, but nothing usefull was found ... Does somebody knows this display or the producer? Thanks in advance, Jesus |

I have looked at the connections a little bit... The pins of the board connector (the 17-pin-thing) is as follows: 1-8 - go through data in/out of the Philips chip 9 - unknown 10 - port DIR of the Philips chip [selector for input/output] 11 - unknown 12 - Vcc (of the Philips chip) 13 - unknown 14 - Ground 15 - negated OE of the Philips chip [Output enable input] 16-17 - background lightning The three unknown pins are not directly connected to the Philips chip or the HD61830 and i don't know, where they are routed too ... ![]() |

It seems, that i should read more carefully ![]() It is a Vikay VK5081 with 160x80 dots... http://www.vikay.com.my/vk5081.htm A question to the expereanced people in this board: I'm right, that i only must supply +5V to the module and it produces the up to -24V by itself for the the lcd drive? |

Looking at this datasheet I don't see any pins for the contrast voltage and it also includes a contrast potentiometer so I think it produces the contrast voltage itself. ![]() |
