Post subject: | Planar EL6648 |
Hey guys, newbie needing help here. I have a Planar EL6648 MSS display that I removed from obsolete equipment headed to the dump. It has a 16 pin ribbon cable going to it. What can i do with it? I'd love to make it run off of a computer as a second display, but I don't know anything about driving displays like this.. Don't get me wrong, I'm good with a schematic and soldering iron, i just haven't played with display drivers before. |

Was unable to locate a datasheet or useful information for the EL6648. It might have been possible to figure out the interface with the equipment the display was connected to. |

I got the pin-out and other technical data from Planar.. It takes Horz and Vert sync and a clock input plus video. Now I just need to learn how to create those signals from a PC |

Maybe you could post the information you have or send to my email address. That could help someone to suggest a possible solution. |

Sorry, I thought I added that to the last post, but nope! I'll proofread this time. http://www.planar.com/products/docs/IBU ... 648mss.pdf Thanks so much for your input! |

Oh yes, it's actually available straight from the Planar website. Not sure why I missed this. So this is a 512x256 resolution with that 1-bit input. |
