Hello folks.

Me and my collegue was wondering if this display would work without a controller?

It seems to be that kind, but with DU0-DU3 and DL0-DL3?

1 FLM
2 LOAD
3 CP
4 D.OFF (inverted)
5 VDD
6 VSS
7 VEE
8 DU0
9 DU1
10 DU2
11 DU3
12 DL0
13 DL1
14 DL2
15 DL3

(Full sheet at http://www.hantronix.com/down/s6448-1.pdf )

Maby a point in right direction? :-)

regards P

I suppose you could try to drive that from PC parallel port according to the timing diagrams in the datasheet and even get something resembling an image.
But the result wouldn't be very usable most likely. It would probably flicker a lot and all the processing power would be used for accessing the parallel port.

So I can't recommend that way for any practical use.

Hi Henri and thank you for the answer.
Just felt a bit sad to throw the LCD away into trash.

Any suggestions?

Right at this moment, unfortunately no. It would probably require you to build some kind controller hardware for it.
Well if you're into embedded stuff I might have something to suggest but nothing ready to use PC solution right now.

I was thinking about this: http://www.skippari.net/lcd/sekalaista/GCLinux.pdf

Manual here: http://www.skippari.net/lcd/sekalaista/ ... Manual.pdf

I have some of those available. The SA-1110 LCD controller is capable of driving displays from 4-bit monochrome to 18-bit color TFT displays. If interested just email me.

Some of these entire boards or only the controllers?

Whole Graphics Client Plus boards. Pretty nice package for certain applications.
