Post subject: | backlight current question for QVGA lcd |
Hi everyone here in New year.... i would like to ask very noob like query for a QVGA type lcd.. I have one of such a LCD make samsung, its datasheet describes that its backlight LED's current capacity is 15mA nominal and 20 mA maximum.. I am driving its backlight with 8mA by using 12 volt supply in series with 50 ohm series resistor ,, my question is: Does it make any worse effect to the LCD operation by driving it with 8 mA supply backlight which is lesser than 15mA (its nominal rating) ? Thanks and regards!!! |

Using lower current that what is specified shouldn't damage it. In fact it should give the white LEDs longer lifetime. |

Thanx for the quick reply... It means, using lower current does not cuase any malfunctioning of LCD e.g. image can not displayed on the LCD screen. right?? Regard!!! |
