Post subject:  Mysterious LCD module

I recently stripped my wifes old Alcatel cell phone type HB100. There was a very nice character display with 12x4 5x8 characters. Now the connector is a 28-pin strip lead and i have no idea what the pins are. Does any one have a spec of this chip because it is to nice to throw away ???

It's difficult to know, try to search in the manufacturer web
of the LCD the datasheet, or try these --> http://liquid-mp3.schijf.org/guides/wiring/wiring.html

Good luck ! ;)

Thanks for your response,
No luck there though. I believe that this is a custom glass so you wouldn't find it with any manfacturer. It actually doesn't even have a manufacturer stamp on it :( And the controller is hidden under a blob of epoxy resin  Anyway, i have the controller board that it was connected to so i'll pull out my trusty logic analyser and do some detective work :D

I'll keep you posted.
