Hi!

I've just hooked up a T6963c-controlled 240x128 graphic display on my parallell port for use with VDR on Linux.
But when I try to send a picture (240x128) to the LCD i only get vertical lines on the display, the lines are changing position and size if I send another picture to the display ... so it looks like that something are sent to the display, but it doesn't looks like it should ...

The display is a Hitachi LMG7420PLFC bought from Farnell

and I've wired it like;
Code:
T6963
=====
  printerport   LCD          other
  -----------   ----------   ----------
  GND   (18)    GND   (03)   GND          (Ground)
  nSTRB (01)    WR    (05)                (Write)
  nSEL  (17)    RD    (06)                (Read)
  nLF   (14)    CE    (07)                ()
  INIT  (16)    C/D   (08)                ()
  D0    (02)    D0    (11)                (DataBit0)
  D1    (03)    D1    (12)                (DataBit1)
  D2    (04)    D2    (13)                (DataBit2)
  D3    (05)    D3    (14)                (DataBit3)
  D4    (06)    D4    (15)                (DataBit4)
  D5    (07)    D5    (16)                (DataBit5)
  D6    (08)    D6    (17)                (DataBit6)
  D7    (09)    D7    (18)                (DataBit7)

(the pin numbers are not excaktly the same on my display )

I havent connected the RESET, D. OFF or FONT SELECT on my display ... and on my datasheet for the display WR, RD and CE are marked as inverted (the are "overlined") ... can anything such be the fault?

Thanks for any help about what can have been wrong

Best regards, Lars Fredriksson!

Btw,

I'm using the graph-lcd plugin available at http://c.siebholz.bei.t-online.de/english/vdr.html

Leaving font select not connected might cause problems. I recommend connecting the font select, doff and reset pins.

RESET goes to HIGH (+5v)

You should find the correct settings for DOFF and FONTSELECT from your display's datasheet.
