Post subject:  big problem with glcd

Hey guys,
i´ve got a big problem with my glcd! I´ve built the glcd with this plan:

first problem:
I can´t see the text (graphic) but only the background light. What can I do to see the text (graphic)??

First double check all your connections. Preferably with multimeter to make sure all solder joints are good. Also make sure everything is wired correctly.

Then you could try changing your LPT port mode in BIOS. ECP/EPP usually works I believe but you can try them all. Then make sure you have correct settings in the program driving the display.

Also just make sure (with a multimeter) that the backlight voltage is correct... It should be something like -4V for the ks chip and -7.8V for the toshiba. Even if you see the backlight and it is not on the correct voltage you will usally see nothing.

I think there was a little typo here ?

You probably meant the contrast voltage. But yes this is something I forgot the mention in my previous post and if the negative contrast voltage isn't working you don't get any picture.

-4V or something like that is what the display here should have in the Vo pin(3).
