Post subject:  Sharp LM64P825 9.5" LCD from a Toshiba T2100

Hey ppl!,

I've got a Sharp LM64P825 9.5" LCD from a Toshiba T2100.
but i can't find the proper datasheets for it :x
I found one from a newer version (the LM64p858) the timing tables are all there :)
But i don't know if i can use this datasheet for my LM64P825.

And there is something attached to my LCD, a "FL Inverter" ( http://www.zeepost.nl/~triggs/LCD/1.jpg ).
I found out it has something to do with the adjustment of the contrast, but i don't know the exact purpose of the ua0392p01 NJD4185.
Maybe some of you ppl know what it's for :)

Good luck. The problem with screens that big is that they usually come with no standard controller, the host device drives the display. There's no exception here, as your display is controllerless (as indicated on page 6, anytime you have to feed a clock signal, it's controllerless). Controller boards are very expensive, and building one of your own requires some deep understanding of timing characteristics and other boring stuff, not to mention lots and lots and lots and lots and (get the picture) SMD soldering.

I do have the capabilities to make my own controller...
and i dunno why i should do SMD soldering.. ? (not that i can't because i have access to a SMT-lab).
I just need some more information :x
The datasheet i've got has the most important information.. but i dunno if i can use it for my LCD :x, the pinumbers seem to be correct though :)

The inverter powers the backlight of the LCD.

I don't know if the datasheet matches your display but the model numbers are close so your chances are good I believe. And often these kind lcd's have same connections and are driven the same way so if you know the pinout you should be able to connect the controller.

As for the controller you should have the needed information/timings in the display datasheet so just figure out a circuit that clocks some data from some memory to the display at the correct timing and you should have your controller.

I'm sure many are interested in this so it would be great if you'd keep us updated of your progress.

Best bet is to check out www.mp3car.com forums, they usually hook up a ton of LCDs, there are a few controllers such as a Datalux and a few others (i personally have a Fraker controller driving my Sharp 10.4" LQ10d367 display).

Too bad that isnt an LVDS panel, as I have a LVDS controller with all cables and inverter, but your screen isnt LVDS.

I will see what I can find out about your LCD, but sharps general used the same pinout on a ton of panels.
