Post subject:  CCFL powering circuit help

Hi,

I've got a new lcd display with a ccfl backlight. According to the datasheet it expects 380V with 70Khz. I've been looking at some solutions from Maxim but they provide 500v and up and I can't seem to find a solution that provides what I would like to have. The right voltage and right frequency. Does some one have experience with these things? How much can I deviate from the specs without blowing up the whole thing?

I don't think the specs need to match perfectly. I've seen CCFL's used with inverters that are not even close in specs. But you might not get the best performance out of the CCFL without correct ratings.
