Hi I received 2 LCD with Dual KS0108 Controller. (128*64) I have fallowed this schema So far, I have data. LCDinfo and Liquid-MP3 are working correctly, My problem is with the Backlight. It simply don't work. I looked many time to my connection, but it just don't light up. I tried both LCD, and both have the same problem. My LCD is from Wayton M.I.T. and look like this when it work

Well I found the problem. On that type of LCD, the VCC and Ground on Pin 19 and20 are inverted (so VCC should be on pin 20, not 19 )

I recognize that LCD from E-Bay. Anything useful electronics on the rest of the PCB? |

yes I got it from Ebay on the PCB, you can get the 10k Pot for contrast (small & usefull) Switchs are electronic, so if you can use it.. I need mecanic Switch for my project... There is also a bigger switch like you find on Computer for on/off The rest is simple LED You need to fallow the Schema if you want to hook it up, except you change de polarity of the Backlight AND put a 22Ohm Resistor isted of 1.5ohm (which is too low, anything from 5 to 25 is fine) |
