Post subject:  Help on powering on the backlight

I had a lot of LCD´s (most of them HD44780) which I can´t turn on the backlight, I can´t find any datasheet. I put 5V on the backlight pins but no responce. Is there any sort of inverter I can use in order to turn it on?. Sorry for my english, thanks

Have you tried with both polarities ? Some displays have an EL sheet as the backlight and need EL inverter.

Goto photoshop (camera) and ask used onetimeuse cameras and took that flash from it.

Remove condersator, flash, that funny lamp, diode.

Now you got 120v ac that works from 1.5volts and power el-stuff.

At least el-wire works with that
