I found the pinout on yahoo, connected all the pins to the lpt port but all i get is a black screen little responce, i can reset the screen through the reset pin so i can see it does respond, i used a computer power supply to obtain the +5 and -12 but when i try to use PowerLCD or LCDInfo the screen remains black and unaffected the the software i have wired it different ways like this one http://www.skippari.net/lcd/forumstuff/dmf5001.png http://www.skippari.net/lcd/t6963c_schem.html http://users.skynet.be/bk234359/LCD/Sit ... t6963c.gif can someone point me to a problem i would really apreciate it ![]() |

I got it working i just had the contrast way to high and couldnt see anything ![]() LCDInfo is made for only 240x128 but i need somehting that works with 240x64 thx ![]() ![]() |

Well 240x64 on a T6963 is supported on most LCD apps, including LCDinfo. |

The problem that am having is that the lcdinfo scambles the screen i can see the winamp plugin the song name and the equalizer its just that its repeated on the side of the screen along with lots of bad characters like $$#@!# on the screen i checked my wiring and the config in lcdinfo it does not make any difference |

That behaviour with LCDInfo sounds strange as my first lcd was a 240x64 T6963C so LCDInfo was first developed with that. Also the way memory is arranged in T6963C, all software for 240x128 size should work with 240x64 also, only you only see half of the screen. Have you got any software working with your display ? Do you have the display set for 6 or 8 pixel wide characters ? |

I'd like to connect this http://aasi.net/Surplus/DataVision24064.htm I am not sure how to connect this lcd via a parallel port. I have seen pinouts but get lost when other components are required. I know very little about electornics. I do understand resistors and potentiometers etc, but not sure how to interpret symbols. I have connected all of the data pins but believe that the EL backlight requires some addition hardware or connection which I dont understand, also contrast control seems to be needed. Anyone with a simple explaination of what hardware i need and how to connect it (possibly where to get them) would be appreciated. |

Looks good, but i think you need the exact datasheet for that module, as that is the 'general' datasheet; it doesn't mention backlight or possible DC converter for contrast. |

http://www.datavision.com.tw/english/ta ... 4064-2.htm Looks like it needs about -7v (VDD- VEE). EL backlight should be no problem, just get a mini inverter. |

Does the display look like the one in that photo ? As that one looks to have an EL backlight. In the datasheet on page 5 table 2.6 typical Vopr voltage is mentioned to be 9.3V. I'm not exactly sure how that should be interpreted but I would try putting external about -9V to the VLCD pin. I would disagree here. ![]() So you should be fine by trying adjustable -7V - -9V to the VLCD pin. After all you can only find out the best contrast voltage by testing. |

-7v or -7.6v that doesn't really matter but what I noticed you mentioned this to be the (VDD-VEE) voltage. This was probably just a little mistake you didn't notice from your part as I know you are familiar how to make the connections but someone new to these could interpret it wrong. So once more how I think it is: VDD-VEE about 12v VSS-VEE about 7v which means the voltage to VLCD should be about -7v And if I now managed to make it sound too complicated just let me know. ![]() |

No not complicated, but indeed i have explained it wrong; VDD- VEE=12.6 typical; so that means Vee should be between -7 ~ -9volts. |
