Hi

I got here a PVG240602AE04 846G using the T6963C its a graphic one - 240x64 the pin out is like the TLX-711A and I even got it working and displaying LCDinfo - BUT - one of the chips on the LCD gets very hot and after some time we found out that when pin 1 and 2 r connected it get very hot but if they r not connected the lcd does not display LCDinfo...

what can i do ?

what should i use to ground the +5v and what for the -8V ?

Thank you ppl 4 your time.

It sounds like it might be some grounding problem with the pin2. Pin2 should be the ground for +5v and -8v (lpt ground to this also). Pin1 is just ground for the metal frame of the LCD and shouldn't be needed if grounding through pin2 works right.

You could try measuring that the ground line from pin2 goes to all chips and there aren't any breaks.

Thank u for your answer.

The problem is the +5v ! we made a finel check, took out all the wires and just gave the lcd the +5v to pin 3 and the ground to pin 2, THE DAMN CHIP IS GETTING HOT AGAIN !

what d u think ?

Hmm, maybe the display is broken. If there aren't any shorts in the PCB or bad connections and the +5v and GND levels are correct I don't know of much else that could be wrong.

Maybe the chip has got wrong voltage in some point and isn't working right anymore.
